Garden / San Francisco

Update Night Tonight #127

Greetings familia! The Garden is coming together. We have healthy soil on the garden beds ready to go... awesome! A big thanks to the urban Hayes Valley Farm  http://hayesvalleyfarm.tumblr.com for providing soil. By the way, Hayes Valley Farm is a great example to follow. They have done such an amazing job with the space and provided so much education and awareness for the environment.

Consecutively, we have finished our first main objective. However, there is a little bit of cleaning to do as well as deciding what plants we would like to grow. Therefore, I have a suggestion. As we are building 3 gardens: San Francisco, Oakland and Daly City... I believe that we can finish all gardens towards the same point. In others words, finishing the gardens beds all together, plant seeds and have them start at the same time. Of course they will all grow different types of plants due to it's location and weather.

So as soon as we finish all three garden beds and are ready to plant. It would be great if we have our next "Family Dinner'. We will discuss our progress, arrange and organize our next steps as wells as spending some quality time together.

Since some of us are in school, as well as working in other projects, I estimate the next dinner to be around the first week of April (Spring Break). Right after our first Tropicana Night event at Valencia St. Tropicana en Valencia fb event page, in which it will be great if we can all come support this event. The purpose of these event is not only to have great time, but also raise awareness of the environment and ourselves.

Another "Update Night Tonight" post will come up soon with more details of our next dinner. We are planning it to be held in San Francisco, 1226 20th Ave. @ Lincoln. Below is a photo of the patio from this location, in which it is spacious for us to even have a great day time family party for our coming spring-summer.
