What we see, is how we have chosen to live
What we see, is the “reflection” of who we are…
Familia!!! Wassup!!! We are still in action! non-stop!! Hope everyone is doing great!!! If not, let us all know how we can help. We are in a “full-on” FAMILIA POWER mode! This is going down! I know I have been out of touch with the updates, however we have been still in touch…
I am still working on keeping these “updates” short, specially this “update” where there is so much to catch up with…
This is what is happening right now.. let me know if you are down or not…

*BURNING MAN
Are we clean yet? I still smell the playa dust around… WOW!! What a journey.. right? We made it happen damn it!!! It was crazy!!! I am so happy we all made it… we were like little kids running around and not knowing where to go or what to do… Personally I was so happy that we got the chance to make a little party of our own with black light soccer games, salsa dancing lesson / full-on latin party, and fortunate to be part of an awesome / beautiful wedding.. We were just a crazy little humble family…
- Production
Wow!!! Interesting to see that we can work our asses off… I never thought that we could. The production from start to finish was intense.. as we are still getting it together from all of the hard work… for many of us it is still all new. We learned so much from it though. Thanks to Camposanto, we have a better understanding of how we can live as a self-sufficient and sustainable camp. Below are the different steps that we have completed in order to make it all happen: (I might miss a few of them.. )
- General Community Preparation prior to Burning Man
- Equipment Preparation (Sound/Lights/Shade Structure/Solar Energy)
- Kitchen/Water Preparation
- Coordination of transportation for individuals and equipment
- Setup upon arrival to Burning Man
- Shade Structure Setup for the entire camp
- Coordination of waste in a sustainable manner
- Kitchen Setup
- Water System Setup
- Music Stage Setup
- Camposanto Sails Setup
- Maintenance of the Camp
- CAMP Brake Down
- LEAVE NO TRACE
- Transportation of waste and all equipment back to our hometown
- Take care of all waste water, recycling, trash and more
- Clean everything: Vehicles, equipment, etc.
As we can see, it was a massive production. We have learned a lot and worked a lot. As community we find that we can make all this happen and more when we all realize that we can take part in each of our rolls. There is always more that we can do…
- Experience
I would love to hear everyone’s stories. Personally I learned that I can give so much… and wish that I could give more…
I believe that the main reason, of why we lived what we lived.. is for us to learn about ourselves as a person.. and to learn about ourselves as family/community… It helps us really see what we are capable of as individuals and what is it that we can do together as family… and there is a partial answer to our question.. Why are we here for?
The main ingredient to make anything happen in this universe… is COMMUNICATION…. How is it that we communicate with each other.. how would I express to someone what I feel about a situation that I connect or disconnect… Lets share how we feel about each other in order to learn and move forward.
- Costs
Our best friend “Money” is calling us… I am really really bad in asking for money. I am horrible actually. However, I like to keep it as clear as possible and so.. consciously we contribute accordingly. Below is a calculation of how much was spent… Keep in mind..that this is the first time we go to burning man together and we might not like the results we have in terms of costs.. but we thank the opportunity to learn from all of this. Considering that I have created an estimate of cost before hand and that it was a good approximation. Plus, there is also $150 per person that we had to contribute to Camposanto, separate from our own costs in which I also mentioned before hand, where Stephanie and myself had paid. I know many of you didn’t have money to come.. however, I wanted all of you to come anyway, and so I kinda convinced you and that we can worry about expenses later… Apart from helping financially, I also worked towards helping Camposanto and made everything possible in order for our community not to invade theirs and be confortable, which I believe it was. We had our energy, water, kitchen, bikes, sound, shade, awesome chill room,.. however.. we could of not done it so well and so smooth with out Camposanto. We had an amazing water system, big community shade, stage, massive kitchen, the opportunity to learn and to meet wonderful and amazing people, plus much more… Again, a big thanks to Camposanto! So, rapping it up… here are the costs… I put them as low as possible and as honest I can be… I lost a few receipts, so all the costs are not there… how ever it is close to what I have spent…

Which I think is not bad at all…. It is actually nothing compared to my previous experiences going with out a camp/community… I have spent way more than that, thousands I should say.. and had a really difficult time keeping it together. Creating a camp is definitely the way to go! We save so much money and makes it very easy to live there… The camp I joined last year was $300…. Of course it was insane… we had a massive generator.. and 10,000 watt sound system…
So contributions will be welcome anytime… later this year – or – next year – or -in 5 years.. whenever, it would be very helpful to recuperate that money… I will be sending humble reminders. I believe that when times like these happen, we really want to make sure that we have a strong family… as strong as when we are doing well..;
Moreover, as you may know already, we ran into some trouble on our way back to SF… Juancho was driving and I asked him to open the door because it was extrmeley hot, all window were open as well… And suddenly we hit a post with the doors, which broke the glass and part of the frame. We agreed that I will pay 25% of the total accident since it was my idea… and he will take care of the rest.
Unfortunately, Juancho is not working at the moment, just like many of us from our family, which sometimes we are in difficult times. And so, I find that it would be very much appreciated if there is any kind of donation that will relief this hit of money payments that were unexpected to me. I had the opportunity to pay it all with help from Steph in order to return the bus as soon as possible, which happened to be a week later than scheduled.. I know many of you are going through difficult times as well.. However, contributions will be welcome anytime… later this year – or – next year – or -in 5 years.. whenever, it would be very helpful… I will be sending humble reminders. I believe that when times like these happen, we really want to make sure that we have a strong family… as strong as when we are doing well..

*HALLOWEEN EVENT
What we see, is how we have chosen to live
What we see, is the “reflection” of who we are…
REFLECTIONS
- Event
Audiopharmacy & Collective Wave present an experiment, an event that will bring communities together from different backgrounds in order toreflect from each other. “Reflections”
We will create the effect of “Reflections” by combining different event genres into one. One event genre will be “Where the wild things are” Which Audiopharmacy is taking care of creating the theme.. Another might be created or not. We will take care of “Reflections”. This design of the event is, 3 separate stages which will be set up in the same room connected into one sound system. The stages will be cued at different times throughout the night and with the help of decoration and lighting effects, we will be able to enhance the feeling of different events within the event…”The dreams within a dream”. The “reflection” of each other will remind us to appreciate who we are as individuals and as communities, one family…
We are learning about consciousness and sustainability. By creating this event, we are raising funds in order to rent a warehouse space and continue establishing and to move forward as a self- sufficient & sustainable community.

*NEXT DINNERS
We need to go back to our weekly dinner meetings… we need it badly, Don’t you think? We need to be in touch, see each other… spend some quality family time. We had a wonderful time last week at Dolores Park for Pablo’s birthday…
So, we need to schedule dinners in advance. At least a month in advance. We got scheduled a couple. In order to schedule more we need hosts. Who would like to host our a dinner or 2 in the next couple of months…
In our dinners we will plant seeds to create a garden if we haven’t done so already. Cook amazingly delicious healthy organic dinners. And, overview all our projects and brainstorm ways how to complete them as well as working on them in that present moment.
