Eden Garden June 29th We had the beautiful opportunity to meet Lauren which by giving us a warm welcome we had a great, joyful and productive time. Lauren has created a lovely and tranquil community garden space for workshops, meditation, yoga and sauna usage. During the meeting we offered her our help and support for her to continue to build and develop the community workspace. We learned that she needs support expanding the garden, building an outdoor bathroom and fundraising.
Therefore, we have planned to dedicate a day of work and a day of celebration to achieve these goals.
We will join forces to help build the bathroom, and tend to the gardening. We will celebrate with a barbeque/potluck fundraiser to help her keep the space going. Lauren has also offered her growing expertise in gardening and vast supply of soil for us to start our own garden as well, which brings us to the topic of our second dinner, clearly we all love to eat.
The SandBox July 4th It was a great time. Alejandra was the Top Chef creating a plethora of dishes for us to enjoy. She made potato salad, coleslaw, marinated fish, tri tip, sausages, and tofu for all of us to eat. She also had a fresh batch of homebrewed Kombucha for us to drink. It was an exciting day as we were able to be with friends, share conversation and begin the work of building the rooftop garden amidst fireworks in the night sky. Joshua, Brian, Juan Manuel and Mike cut, sawed, drilled, measured and designed the rooftop garden in a relatively short amount of time.
During our next dinner, we will be ready to bring up the soil and begin planting actual seeds. We will also discuss progress on our Collective Wave business plan and begin to hand out individual assignments. Our team is growing closer as we get to know each other better and begin to take on different roles. We all have valuable information to share and expertise in a variety of areas. Subsequently, when we work together, we teach and learn from each other creating and building our community in order to actualize our individual and group goals. We are all creative and expressive human beings with infinite potential. Despite apprehensions, our busy hectic schedules, and any propensity we may have to avoid collaboration, we continue to discover that working together enables us to accomplish our goals and move forward.
